
This position manages the Quality Assurance functions of the Adrian Operations site. The role is responsible for managing all activities supporting the testing of products to ensure only high quality products are approved for shipment to our customers. This position supports similar roles in the NCA region.
Essential Functions of this Position
- Maintaining department - budgeting, planning, goal setting.
- Safety - ensuring required activities are carried out.
- Working with adjacent teams in order to onboard new products or update to existing materials.
- Upkeep of equipment. The role is technical in nature, heavily relying on lab instrumentation.
- Quality management systems (QMS) - Supporting audits, quality programs, and documentation.
- Maintain equipment necessary to support QA functions (e.g. NMR, GC, FTIR, titration, tensile testers, durometers, rheometers, ovens, and microbiology testing).
- Align global, regional, and local activities with the Business Teams, Production units, and global Quality teams to support the needs of customers.
- Support Production and Product Development groups to discover/uncover root cause of problems.
- Test method development and problem solving.
- Ensure a safe and productive quality lab environment.
- Support audits by communicating quality functions and providing process documentation
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry or similar required
- At least seven (7) years experience including supervisory responsibilities required
- Knowledge of quality management systems.
- Practical experience with analytical techniques and instruments, instrument calibrations, and Measurement System Analysis.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work within and lead cross-functional team.
- Experience with quality audits.
- Preferred qualifications.
- Familiar with industry quality standards and processes.
- Six sigma training.
- PCQI certified.
