To strengthen our team in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, we are looking for you as a R&D Engineer 1 (f/m/d)

Job Responsibilities

•    Leading product development efforts in polymer synthesis and powder production at the pilot scale.
•    Conducting analytical assessments of pilot and plant samples to establish structure-process-property relationships.
•    Implementing process analytics and optimization initiatives utilizing digital tools.
•    Collaborating within an intercultural environment alongside global colleagues and partners.
•    Coordinating internal and external customer sampling activities in alignment with Operations and ADTS requirements.
•    Managing documentation related to quality, IMS, process and chemical safety, and MOC matters, including audit preparation.
•    Maintaining pilot equipment (Dryer & Pressure Reactor), associated facilities, and documentation.
•    Designing and introducing concepts for continuous improvement of laboratory operations.
•    Advancing lab automation and supporting digitalization strategies by applying global recipe design standards and managing data.
•    Providing production support in Ulsan, addressing product and raw material quality concerns, as well as process optimization.
•    Facilitating and participating in safety activities and training sessions under the "For our Safety" Program in collaboration with ULS plant peers and the L-A-RD AYN team.
•    Engaging in cross-functional collaboration with internal business division stakeholders across technical (ADTS), production, and business functions.

 

Qualifications Required

Knowledge
•    Extensive industry experience in manufacturing polymer dispersions, radical polymerization, and spray drying operations, including raw material processing, recipe and process design, as well as product application.
•    Comprehensive knowledge of macromolecular chemistry or related fields, with particular expertise in market trends and products relevant to key responsibilities.
•    Experience in research and development within an industrial setting.
•    Demonstrated adaptability in dynamic market environments and commitment to ongoing professional development.
•    Strong proficiency in laboratory management.
•    Effective communication and presentation abilities.
•    Proficient in English; additional languages such as German or others are highly desirable.

Education:
•    Holds a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline
•    Preferred higher education level: MSc., PhD
•    5+ years experience in chemical industry
