Wacker Biotech, as part of WACKER, is a leading global biotechnology organization specializing in the production of biopharmaceuticals. The company has outstanding technologies for the rapid, efficient and thus cost-effective production of therapeutic proteins for clinical and commercial supply. Currently it is the biggest dedicated microbial Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) in the world. lts four dedicated and fast-growing production sites are currently based in Germany (Halle and Jena), The Netherlands (Amsterdam) and The United States (San Diego, CA). At our Amsterdam-based center Wacker Biotech B.V. focuses on the GMPcompliant microbial based production of recombinant proteins, vaccines and live microbials as drug substance and drug product.

 

To strengthen our team in Amsterdam,
we are looking for you as a(n) Project Manager (f/m/d)

 

Job Responsibilties:

 

  • Execute multiple projects from preparation through completion, ensuring structured planning, coordination, and delivery
  • Build, lead, and motivate a high‑performing professional project team
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Ensure achievement of all project deliverables within defined timelines, budget constraints, and quality requirements
  • Operate in a CDMO environment as the key contact person for clients, ensuring clear communication, professional guidance, and seamless project execution
  • Coordinate cross‑functional project activities and facilitate collaboration across scientific, technical, and operational teams
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk assessments, milestones, and resource allocation
  • Prepare and present project status updates, reports, and decision‑support materials to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage escalations effectively and ensure consistent stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle

 

 

Qualifications Required

 

  • Over 3 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical, vaccine, or biotechnology sector
  • Proven track record in leading complex projects, supported by a formal project management qualification
  • Strong academic foundation with a Master’s degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, biology, or chemistry
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands (valid residence and work permit)
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and structured working style
  • High level of accountability, reliability, and adaptability
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, regulated environments
