We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician - Coatings, Caulks & Mastics at the site in Allentown, PA.
What you will do:
The Lab Technician will be under the guidance of a chemist and/or technical manager, runs application testing for projects relating to technical service, business development, and plant function. Maintains documentation of results and observations in an electronic lab notebook and communicates findings. Additionally, this role provides significant general support for the function of our ISO-compliant labs, including performing and documenting equipment calibration and verification, procuring raw materials, preparing lab staples, performing and arranging for equipment maintenance and repair, and maintaining accurate chemical labeling.
- Support lab function by maintaining and calibrating equipment, replenishing raw materials, and keeping the chemical inventory current
- Run testing to support innovation projects
- Run testing to support existing customers and new opportunities
- Participate in co-supplier interactions and evaluations
- Learn the basics of coatings, caulks, and mastics formulating and testing
- Support the health of Calvert City coatings grades through routine qualifications and priority testing of atypical batches
- Follow safety procedures and support local safety processes
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in a scientific field preferred.
- 1+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Industry experience a plus but not required
- Basic laboratory skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective time management
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Mechanical aptitude a plus
- Must be able to work full time in person
- Able to spend significant time standing
- Able to occasionally lift weights up to 50 lbs
