
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our WSMI Technical team. This internship offers hands-on experience in Research & Development, Silicone Chemistry, Production Realization, Quality Control, and Project Management, as well as professional development opportunities, and exposure to real-world projects that make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Product Development and Product Realization for Contract Development Customer Projects
- Conduct research and compile data for specification targets
- Support team members in specification development for product validation
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas
- Prepare reports, presentations, or documentation as needed
- Create and present a Project Presentation at the end of the internship
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Rising sophomore or higher pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Available full-time in person (Mon–Fri) for our 12 week program
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative
- Knowledge of basic chemistry
- Basic hands-on lab experience, including:
- Building or assembling prototypes
- Conducting simple tests or experiments
- Following test protocols and safety procedures
- Familiarity with prototype development processes (from coursework, labs, or projects)
- Ability to support design iterations based on testing results
