WACKER BIOSOLUTIONS specializes in customized bio-technical solutions, high-quality fine chemicals and superior polyvinyl acetate solid resins for gum bases. At our San Diego site, we are currently looking for a(n) ​Project Manager​ to join our growing team.

 

This Project Manager will serve as a liaison between clients and cross functional teams to ensure project success while complying with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Focus will be on understanding client needs and providing excellent customer service and proactive solutions. The primary responsibilities of the Project Manager include activities related to supply chain, procurement, batch record and label creation, and other project management and coordination activities affiliated with assigned projects.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Management of projects and programs with external customers including areas of project planning and documentation; internal control of resources and processes; monitoring of project costs and profitability; preparation of offers/proposals and invoices; internal and external representation of the project and support during contract negotiations
  • Together with the project team, translating proposals into the Project Plan to define work packages, timelines, deliverables and budget.  Forecast project sales and cash flow
  • Ensuring successful project execution by organizing project team meetings including agenda and minutes.  Tacking of timelines, deliverables and budget through project planning with input from project leads and ensuring accurate project related time spend
  • Communicating the status of project to the internal and external customers on areas such as changes in planning, operational issues and/or priority issues with other projects, on deliverables achieved and financial updates

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field (e.g. molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, biology, chemistry) is required with a Master's degree or PhD preferred
  • Preferably at least 3 years of professional project management experience preferably in the development or production of recombinant biologic drugs
  • Knowledge of prokaryotic expression systems, fermentation, biologics purification and biologics analytics
  • Travel  10%
  • Structured problem-solving thinking
  • Preferably contract negotiations and understanding of sales and business processes
  • Knowledge of general GMP requirements and GMP-compliant documentation for the production   of recombinant therapeutic biologics
  • Knowledge of the assessment of development and manufacturing documents, knowledge of the validation of analytical methods and manufacturing processes
  • Strong communication skills
