Our regional presence in the U.S. is focused on GMP-compliant manufacturing of plasmid DNA products up to 500L. The team has extensive experience up to phase III clinical supply and successfully released more than 100 GMP batches for advanced therapy applications. 


At our San Diego site, we are currently looking for a  ​Process Development Associate​ to be a part of our growing team.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

An experienced Product Development (PD) Associate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and performing analytical testing techniques on DNA, RNA, protein, and bulk drug substance samples.  The PD Associate will work with engineers, operators, and other associated groups to implement and tech transfer new processes and to troubleshoot any process-related problems. The PD Associate will also execute bench-scale experiments in bacterial fermentation and biologics purifications as a secondary responsibility.

 

  • Develop, implement, and execute analytical techniques for testing biological materials (40%)
  • Perform bacterial fermentations and biologics purifications (40%)
  • Work with R&D, MFG, and QC groups to facilitate technology transfers (10%)
  • Develop and revise SOPs as well as perform periodic revisions to ensure the procedures are up to date to current standards (10%)
  • Expertise in standard plasmid DNA QC testing techniques such as appearance, concentration, conductivity, osmolality, pH, purity, and identity
  • Expertise in HPLC analysis, UV spectroscopy, BCA protein assays
  • Expertise in electrophoresis methods such as capillary electrophoresis and agarose gel electrophoresis
  • Experience with plasmid DNA mini-prep procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemistry or related discipline is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry in performing a quality control or analytics role or a related role./ relevant sales experience.
  • Experienced in documenting work in laboratory notebooks, presentations, and reports
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
