To strengthen our team in San Diego,
we are looking for you as a(n) MSAT Manager.

 

The Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) manager will report to the Director of Manufacturing and represent the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team. The position acts as the site SME manager for the upstream and downstream processes and is responsible managing a team of MSAT engineers who are designated SMEs for specific unit operations.

 

The position is responsible being the technical and scientific lead representative for the MSAT team and manages process technology transfers into a GMP production facility. These tech transfer activities may occur with external clients or internally between multiple Wacker manufacturing sites. As a MSAT manager, the position requires to be the process SME and scientific gatekeeper, and is involved in critical and tactical decision during process tech transfers. The position is involved in major life-cycle product introduction activities, change implementations and product impact assessments. In managing these activities, the positions requires to be astute at process efficiency and being cost competitive (while abiding to EH&S and cGMP requirements).

 

The position will work internally with peers in MSAT as well as cross functionally with Manufacturing (MFG), Process Development (PD), Quality, Project Management (PM) and other organizations across multiple manufacturing sites. Regular client interactions will also occur.

 

 

Position Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Scientific Study. PhD (or MSc) a plus
  • 8+ years of proven experience in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • ISPE member a plus
  • PDA member a plus
  • Project Management knowledge a plus
  • Relevant experience in large pharma and/or small biotech companies
  • Expertise in multiple disciplines, specifically bioprocessing, analytical chemistry and quality.
  • Apply scientific and technical knowledge to provide constructive and creative solutions to the current manufacturing platform or during tech transfer of new technology from clients or internal Wacker projects.
  • Scientific knowledge and effective interpersonal skills to influence and guide internal teams and to build excellent client relationship to meet project deliverables.
  • Ability to provide tactical solutions to overcome tech transfer and operational obstacles with a proactive and client service skill set.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego is $118,000.00 - 140,000.00 The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc . Wacker is a multi state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
