Our regional presence in the U.S. is focused on GMP-compliant manufacturing of plasmid DNA products up to 500L. The team has extensive experience up to phase III clinical supply and successfully released more than 100 GMP batches for advanced therapy applications. 

At our San Diego site, we are currently looking for a ​Human Resource Manager​ to be a part of our growing team.



Job Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager is a strategic business partner for the San Diego site supporting management and team members at the location for a wide variety of HR topics including; but not limited to: Employee Relations, Hiring and Onboarding, Integration, Policies Implementation and Compliance, Training, Total Rewards, Benefits, Performance Management, Change Management, Organization and Succession Planning, and Talent Management.


  • Leads the recruiting activities for the site to include preparing and maintaining accurate job descriptions, implementing appropriate organization designs and insuring the staffing levels are managed within the budget.  
  • Partners with the HR COE's for Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition & Development ensuring processes are followed and initiatives from these organizations are communicated and implemented consistently.  Participates as the HR person in the hiring process for the location.        
  • Coaches and advises managers and team members. Successfully resolves employee relations issues including complaints, investigations, performance issues, terminations and other people-related topics. Research, recommends, administers and interprets HR policies & procedures ensuring clear communication, compliance, and equitable application of policies. Takes the lead with investigations related to EEO, discrimination, harassment, etc.; identifies and provides recommendations to minimize risk. On-boards new team members and conducts exit interviews.  
  • Coordinates WACKER's performance management process by ensuring managers are trained, timelines are met, annual goals are set, performance appraisals and discussions are completed on time. Plans and leads the Talent Management and Succession Plan Management processes for the location.
  • At the site level, manages program administration in areas of ADA compliance, Diversity & Inclusion, Educational Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, Ethics Hotline, Worker's Compensation, and related Human Resource programs.  Proactively supports organizational change and supports other US regional initiatives. 
  • Serve as site contact for coordination of salary continuation, benefits/claims with external vendor, tracks return to work status/clearance, and communicates knowledge of company benefits in order to assist and direct employees as needed..



  • Bachelor's degree in HR; or other related field plus relevant HR generalist experience.-
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Human Resource generalist or Human Resource Business Partner role.
  • HR experience in a manufacturing or BioTech environment.
  • Self-driven with ability to partner and build relationships to effectively work with entry-level up to VP level.
  • Proven track record as an HR business partner who persists when faced with adversity to maintain the integrity of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • First-hand experience using an HRIS system, SAP or Success Factors preferred.
  • A current certification from SHRM or HRCI preferred. Bachelor's Degree in business, technical or related field required.
