At our San Diego site, we are currently looking for a ​Facilities Technician​ to be a part of our growing team.

 

Job Responsibilities

This job requires a person who has a desire to work in a Facilities organization who has a great attitude, desire to learn, be reliable and on time, and be flexible with scheduling.  This role requires working some hours alone, on nights/weekends with little oversight but is able to accomplish task lists left from the day shift. The person must be highly focused on safety and never put themselves in a position where they could be injured while at the facility alone.  This role requires someone who is a good communicator via cell phone, e-mail as well as verbally.  The role requires the person to carry a cell phone and to be 100% available and in contact with the Facilities Site Services (FSS) on-call person as their back-up. This person will be responsible for the security of the site after everyone has gone home for the night and on weekends.

  • 3x Security rounds per shift checking all pre-identified locations using RFID tags and phone app.
  • 1x - Daily rounds of the rooftop, mechanical yard and facility interior to log key system parameters.
  • Conduct routine light preventative maintenance of facilities equipment including HVAC, refrigeration units, physical plant, clean utilities and site support equipment.
  • Close contact and coordination with FSS on-call person for equipment/building/system issues.
  • Operation of the fire, security, building management and other facilities related systems.
  • Interface with customers as necessary and assist in resolving facilities related work requests.
  • Light maintenance such as: Painting, replacing lamps, and light preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Administrative duties such as: Mail sorting/delivery, document review, filing and labeling.
  • Respond to building and equipment alarms and resolve equipment/instrument issues.
  • Upkeep of the general facility (painting, light repairs, doors/locks, restrooms, etc.)
  • Stocking break rooms and restrooms with supplies as needed.
  • Filling all copiers with paper and maintaining copy station supplies.
  • Execution of miscellaneous facilities related projects as directed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be comfortable working alone at night and on weekends.
  • Must be able to walk and be on feet for 4 hours at a time.
  • Must not fear heights and be able to climb stairs and ladders and be on a roof top.
  • Must be able to crawl, stoop, kneel, climb and be comfortable working around equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from the floor to work bench height.
  • Must be able to physically use hand tools and equipment required to complete work requests
