Wacker Biotech, as part of WACKER, is a leading global biotechnology organization specializing in the production of biopharmaceuticals.
At our San Diego, California site, we are currently looking for a ​Associate Manager, Facilities and Site Services​ to be a part of our growing team.

This position provides day-to-day oversight and management of the Facilities Site Services team.  With an emphasis on safety and cGMP compliance, the successful Associate Manager, Facilities will work to meet customer requests and will ensure timely and compliant completion of all maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance and other assigned projects. This position will provide leadership and train facilities team members.



1. Manage day to day operations at site level and lead the facilities team. Including, managing, and evaluating performance of team members in department. Communicating performance expectations, monitoring performance in-light of these expectations, delegating assignments and training facilities team members.
2. Manage the cGMP Preventative Maintenance program for continuous improvement related to departmental maintenance and operations SOPs. 
3. Manage the operations and management of the BMS, ensuring that alarms are responded to per SOP. Troubleshoot and lead repairs of: automation control systems for Manufacturing systems, utilities and HVAC equipment, plant/utility systems and other complex mechanical problems as they arise.
4. Interface with internal customers and manage outside vendors and assist in resolving facilities related issues.
5. Manage and have complete oversight to ensure the site Lock/Out - Tag/Out programs are followed in order to keep all team members and support vendors safe.
6. Leads department efforts in collaboration with Quality Assurance to ensure that cGMP maintenance documentation, departmental logbooks, and all maintenance records meet policy guidelines.
7. Ensures monthly PM's and Work Orders are completed in partnership with QA
8. Assist and support Environmental Health and Safety and/or planning


Qualifications Required 

• Bachelor's Degree in the field of Engineering with 7-10 years of experience.
• Safety - Lock/Out - Tag/Out and other safety programs.
• cGMP Process Maintenance.
• Plant/Utilities Operations & Maintenance.
• HVAC - Understanding of HVAC systems.
• Building Management System Operations & Maintenance (preferably Siemens, Apogee/Insight).
• CMMS - Experience using CMMS database to track, schedule, and close maintenance activities.
• Building life-safety systems - Fire Control, Card Access, Sprinkler system, etc.

• Experience with 5-S
• Experience with Six-Sigma LEAN principals
• Experience with Rockwell Plant PAX automation software
