For the Regulatory Affairs team at our SILICONES business unit, we are looking for a

REACH Manager

The REACH Manager coordinates chemicals registrations under EU REACH and similar substance inventories for SILICONES, the largest business division of WACKER. Close cooperation takes place with internal partners from production up to marketing, from product safety departments up to regional experts all over the world, and also with external contacts like registration consortia and service providers.

Job Responsibilities

• accompany submissions and updates of registration dossiers within existing and evolving registration schemes
• commission analytical studies or verification of use conditions
• ensure the availability of data and usage rights, as well as support by external service providers
• evaluate impacts of new regulatory topics in the area of chemicals regulation
• plan and support the implementation of these topics within SILICONES
• represent SILICONES in various internal and external bodies and workgroups
• ensure a consistent data maintenance for technical compliance solutions
• provide expert advice upon internal and customer inquiries
• use and improve processes to cover registration-related customer demands

Job Requirements

• degree in chemistry, preferably with a doctorate, or comparable education
• experience in the independent implementation of work in chemicals legislation (e.g. REACH) desirable
• knowledge of silicone chemistry or application and chemical analysis desirable
• written and spoken English
• entrepreneurial thinking and acting, assertiveness, confident and eloquent appearance, structured way of working, high degree of independence, resilience and negotiating skills, high reliability and accuracy
• experience in project management will advantage
