Project engineer APC
Responsibilities
- Handling of process automation and optimization projects with focus on APC (Advanced Process Control)
- Development of new and maintenance of existing model-based controllers
- Development and maintenance of soft sensors based on simple regression equations or complex AI algorithms in cooperation with data scientists
- Extraction and processing of structured, mainly numerical data sets (time series, SQL)
- Collaboration in and management of projects
- Execution of feasibility studies
Qualifications
- Young professional or with professional experience
- Completed studies in one of the following or similar branches: Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science and Engineering, Cybernetics, Process Control Engineering, Automation Engineering or Applied Informatics
- Very good knowledge and experience with system modeling or Operations Research (preferably process engineering systems)
- Knowledge of classical control engineering; experience in model-based control (tools from Aspentech, AVEVA or Yokogawa/Shell) is an advantage
- Affinity for numbers, mathematical problem solving, data analysis and algorithms
- Above average IT and programming skills (Python, JSON, SQL)
- Independent and team-oriented way of working
- Good communication and integration skills
- Very good written and spoken English; German language skills advantageous but not required
- Willingness to travel regularly to Burghausen or other Wacker Chemie AG sites (e.g. Nünchritz).
- The initial training will take place over a period of two months at the Burghausen site, after that, the place of work is Pilsen (CZ).
