IT Software Engineer Production Backend

Job Responsibilities

• Development/implementation and further development of global deployed systems in the industrial environment of digital manufacturing as well as collaboration of global OT and IT security and infrastructure units
• Collaboration on very large agile IT projects, especially in the digital manufacturing environment, and design of a unified architecture framework, especially in the backend resource layer, application API layer, and level 2 interfaces
• Further development of concepts and strategic design of the cloud-based system architecture and development of strategic cross-service concepts (e.g., for security, reliability, maintainability) and, together with the product owners, implementation of the respective service implementation teams
• Operations / Monitoring and further development of the global deployed digital backbone platform (internal developer platform) as well as collaboration of global Shopfloor Connectivity
• Global Operations / Monitoring of our Kubernetes Platform
• Work together with our Platform scrum team to improve our Platform and keep it up to date
• Support / Coordinate the ongoing Rollout of the Platform for smaller sites as well Cloud Instances together with our IT infrastructure Team
• Customer consulting for Platform and Kafka usage
• Consulting how our customers can bring the Use Cases successfully to the platform, what is possible with the Platform
• Be an accelerator for new use case implementations by contributing your Kafka / Platform knowledge
• Collaboration on very large agile IT projects, especially in the digital manufacturing environment, and design of a unified architecture framework, especially in the backend resource layer, application API layer, and level 2 interfaces
• Be a part on the rollout of MES Systems, Digital Worker Platform and Use Cases based on MES, AI, Shopfloor Data
• Enabler for innovations and simultaneous implementation of concepts and activities from DevOps
• Further implementation of new Platform Features / Concepts

Job Requirements

• Completed university studies (master's degree, diploma, bachelor's degree) in technical computer science / general computer science, automation/engineering or comparable qualifications and experience
• Experience in modern IT delivery processes (especially DevOps) and experience in agile requirements engineering (e.g. Scrum)
• Relevant experience and high affinity for technology trends with message brokers and streaming platforms (Kafka or similar)
• Experience in cloud platforms (esp. Azure) and cloud native & open source technologies (Kubernetes, Microservices architecture, Istio, ArgoCD, Helm).
• Experience and interest in event streaming, monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting.
• Strong passion and intuition for trends, new technologies and platforms, and a high level of innovation
• Experience as a T-Shaped Professional microservice architecture (Java, Python), Kubernetes, streaming would an advantage
• Experience in Kubernetes Security
• You have very good English skills (spoken and written), German skills are an advantage
