Head of Operational Procurement

 

Job Description

 

  • Lead and develop a team of operational, logistics and technical buyers, ensuring smooth procurement processes across various categories
  • Optimize and manage procurement workflows, including process analysis, KPI setting, reporting, and implementation of improvements
  • Provide expert support to your team in procurement tools (SAP, Ariba, etc.), tenders, negotiations, and resolving non-standard cases
  • Support alignment and cooperation between Strategic and Operational Procurement, helping to clarify important topics
  • Drive automation and digitalization of procurement, including data management and process innovation
  • Cooperate with other company sites and participate in cross-functional projects
  • Oversee team onboarding, training, and development, including regular meetings and performance reviews

 

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Preferably university degree in a relevant field (such as economics, industrial engineering, or a related field), or equivalent professional experience that can compensate for the absence of a university degree.
  • Proven experience in procurement leadership role for at least 2 years
  • Strong background in process optimization and productivity management
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP and preferably some of procurement IT tools (Excel, Ariba, Celonis, Tableau, Business Objects, AI)
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal); German is an advantage
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in an international environment and willingness to occasionally travel on business (mainly to Germany)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, resilience, and strong organizational skills
