Legal Counsel Commercial

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Advising the WACKER business divisions, in particular POLYMERS and POLYSILICON, on all legal issues in close cooperation with the Munich legal team
  • Drafting, reviewing and revising commercial sales contracts and other contracts relevant to the WACKER business divisions as well as supporting the business teams in contract negotiations - independently as well as with the support of a senior legal counsel
  • Supporting interdisciplinary projects from a legal perspective
  • Legal research, drafting of expert opinions and statements
  • Preparation and drafting of general terms and conditions, contract templates and sample clauses
  • Close exchange with the legal departments in Germany, China and the USA
  • Development and implementation of legal training measures
  • Monitoring legislation and case law in the relevant European jurisdictions

 

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Fully qualified lawyer with a Master's degree in Law (Mgr.)
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a law firm and/or as inhouse lawyer at a company
  • Experience in commercial law and contract negotiations is an advantage
  • Experience in providing legal advice to commercial or business teams
  • Very good knowledge of international contract and commercial law. Basic knowledge of German law is an advantage
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills, including legal terminology, are required. Basic knowledge of the German language is beneficial; experience abroad is an advantage
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to legal issues
  • Strong ability to grasp and analyze complex issues, reduce them to the essentials and present them in an understandable way
  • Entrepreneurial thinking
  • Enthusiasm for working in interdisciplinary and international teams
  • Decisiveness, assertiveness and persuasiveness
  • Confident appearance, very good team and communication skills
  • Initiative, independence and strong ability to collaborate across departments
