
The purpose of this position is to support the company's strategic growth and productivity goals by decreasing production costs via improving production recipes, ensuring consistent quality, reducing customer complaints and optimizing cycle times while supporting high safety performance.
Essential Functions of this Position
- Tasks include review and transfer of new and globally harmonized products to local production, improvement of existing product FTPR (first time pass rate) and statistical analysis of process data to reduce variation, investigation of all failed production batches and review of customer complaints aimed at improving product performance.
- Maintain and improve reactor / mixer recipes to optimize quality and efficiency by becoming an expert in the assigned production area.
- Troubleshoot chemistry/process problems in the production area by strategically utilizing available laboratory resources and by being available 24 hours to assist PTS's and operators with production processes.
- Develop rework / blend-off recipes for off-specification material
- Manage assigned inventory of raw materials and products.
- Investigation / Root Cause Analysis of quality failures and production chemistry related complaints.
- Assist Process Control / QA in designing new and improving existing test methods.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Materials Science or other science related degree.
- 0-3+ years' experience of chemical plant production environment or related.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and perform statistical data analysis.
- Knowledge of silicone chemistry preferred.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
