At our site in Nanjing, we are currently looking for a(n) Sr. Project Engineer - E&I.

Job Responsibilities:

- Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural project teams
- Support the Project/Engineering Manager with regard to various electrical and instrumentation issues
- Prepare the E&I project design basis and scope (Front-End-Engineering) including technology selection, E&I-part of flow-sheets (P&ID), hard- and software specification, E&I-relevant layouts, concepts for safety instrumented system
- Execute and control the E&I-relevant design-engineering phase of projects, including design calculations, instrumentation and equipment choice, detailed design of instruments, hard- and software selection, software programming, technical clarifications with other internal disciplines  (e.g. process, piping, procurement) or external contractors
- Perform function descriptions & operating instructions
- Supervise construction and installation of all E&I parts
- Organize and execute or supervise the loop checks and functional checks of the E&I-loops
- Actively participate in project HAZOP and HSSE reviews, provide necessary inputs
- Carry out documentation checks
- Provide necessary input to prepare cost estimates and project schedules in support of project planning. Cost estimates and project schedules should be analyzed for accuracy, and completeness
- Interact with construction and site personnel (e.g. construction-manager, plant-manager, maintenance-engineers) to ensure that the plant is installed in the relevant E&I-fields according to plans, communicate with team members regarding any changes, deviations and progress during project execution
- Provide guidance and technical support to resolve E&I-construction problems
- Represent the owner interests in the project towards the Local Design Institute, Vendors, construction companies, etc.
- Provide technical support in the field of E&I during start-up including "trouble-shooting" 
- Accompany the close out of the project by establishing punch lists and acceptance protocols, preparation or checking of as-built drawings and documentation, cost and project reconciliation and take part in the lessons learned session at the end of the project
- Search actively for opportunities to improve project performance during all phases
- Establish local know-how in the relevant discipline and share with other/new project members/teams from WACKER

Qualification Required:

- Familiar with instrumentation, hardware, software and electrical systems used in chemical industry
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, official specifications, regulations and technical instructions
- Familiar with the principals and procedures of project engineering practices and project management
- Effective communication skills in English (oral and writing) are expected.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, knowledge of SAP would be helpful
- Strong and effective communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
- Strong spirit of teamwork
- Willingness to continuously build knowledge and broaden skills
- High flexibility, high sense of responsiveness, open mindedness
