we are looking for you as a(n) Business Development Manager (BioPharma).

 

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our growing team and support the growth in the advanced therapies space. This position will be responsible for working together with the Business Development team in North America with a focus on plasmid DNA, mRNA recombinant proteins, and related manufacturing services. This position will greatly increase our prospective activities on the US East Coast and contribute to sales and marketing activities to meet Wacker Biotech’s revenue and growth targets. The successful candidate will help sharpen and further refine the marketing strategy and engage the biotechnology industry to identify new leads.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify new Leads in the pDNA, mRNA and proteins manufacturing space, establish communication, explore their needs, build strong relationships, and successfully win the opportunity. Participate in the relevant conferences and present WACKER Biotech’s capabilities.
  • Develop a strong relationship with the lead’s relevant contact person, organize visits to the lead’s facilities or to our facilities, showcasing our capabilities and identifying the leads service requirements. Ensure the timely preparation of proposals for our CDMO services and efficient conclusion of manufacturing service agreements
  • Establish a continuous market monitoring, identify trends and liaise with Operations to develop new solutions

 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or similar relevant education. Preferably Masters degree.
  • 4+ year relevant industry sales/business development experience
  • 2+ years of experience in the field of plasmid DNA, mRNA, proteins manufacturing services or cell and gene therapy at a commercial CDMO
  • Experience in business development and negotiating service contracts.
  • Track record of successful deals in the relevant CDMO industry.
  • Related experience with Biopharma cGMP manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to approach new customers and values building long term customer relations.
  • Excellent verbal / written communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal employees to coordinate successful business development objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to execute customer proposals independently, gather competitive information and supports the BD strategy.
  • Track record of establishing relationships and creating a partnerships with employees across the organization, both on a regional and international level.
  • Ability to air travel, attend Biotech conferences and give presentations (+40% travel)
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Enjoys working in a growing and dynamic biotech atmosphere and being part of an international setting 

 

This position will sit on the East coast or ideally close to Boston's biotech hub.
