At our Home Office site, we are currently looking for a ​Business Development Manager BioPharma US​ to be a part of our growing team.

Job Responsibilities

To support growth in the advanced therapies space, we are seeking a Business Development Manager (North America) to join our team. This position will be responsible for working together with the BD team in North America with a focus on plasmid DNA and related manufacturing services. The new team member will contribute to strategic and tactical sales and marketing activities to meet Wacker Biotech's revenue and growth targets. The successful candidate will help sharpen and further refine the marketing strategy and engage the biotechnology industry to identify new leads.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelors (and preferably Masters) in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or similar relevant education.
• Having minimum 5 years of commercial business development experience at (bio)pharmaceutical organizations, preferably in the biopharmaceutical CDMO sector.
• More than 3 years experience in the field of plasmid DNA manufacturing services, mRNA or cell and gene therapy
• Experience in business development and negotiating service contracts.
• Track record of successful deals in the relevant CDMO industry.
• Related experience with, Biopharma cGMP manufacturing processes.
• Is able to approach new customers and values building long term customer relations.
• Excellent verbal / written communication and technical presentation skills.
• Enjoys working in a growing and dynamic biotech atmosphere and being part of a very international setting.
• Has a clear hands-on and very proactive attitude (and is able to execute customer proposals him/herself, gathers competitive information, supports the BD strategy, etc.) complemented with a customer-oriented focus.
• Can build strong teams and relationships across a global organization.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego is $145,000 to $175,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc . Wacker is a multi state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
