What you will do:
The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for managing the safe preparation, operation, and shutdown of the cyclodextrin production plant via the operation of the distributed control system (DCS) and with the direct support of the operators/techs assigned to their crew. Represents the plant management authority during night shift and weekends. Supervises the adherence of operators, techs, maintenance personnel, and contractors supporting their area of responsibility to follow all operational procedures, regulations, safety/environmental and food safety requirements, work instructions and implemented management programs.
- Prepare and maintain proper manufacturing records related to process control, logs, traceability, and other applicable information pertinent to the role.
- Build team and support plant moral by passing on important information and training operators/techs regarding safety/environmental, quality, process changes, etc..
- Participate in programs and projects related to improving process productivity, food safety, plant hygiene, security, and quality.
- Communicate maintenance needs and coordinate with maintenance staff and contractors to ensure tasks are completed adequately and timely.
- Support site management with miscellaneous projects and tasks as needed to achieve site goals and company directives
- Responsible for troubleshooting the process and equipment, as well as submitting suggestions to overcome problems and improve the plant’s safety, hygiene, and performance
- Support Management team with related to scheduling, inventorying, and unloading raw materials and supplies.
- Respond to emergencies (safety, accidents, fires, chemical spills, etc..) and participate in incident Investigations including root cause analysis and action planning.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED. Chemistry, engineering, EHSS, mechanical/electrical, or experience
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel up to 5%.
- Ability to work productively in a diverse team
- Experience troubleshooting equipment and processes
- Detailed understanding of equipment operation (decanters, pumps, etc.)
- Experience using Windows software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience using a DCS type control system in an industrial setting
- Dedicated to high-quality work and experience performing under GMP practices to be food & pharma excipient compliant.
