The Plant Engineer supports compliance, maintenance, reliability, optimization, and expansion of the technical facilities on the Eddyville site. This requires complete and up-to-date technical documentation as well as necessary stock of spare-parts. The Plant Engineer supports to develop internal resources as well as external engineering and construction contractor resources to comply with these tasks. He/she will also support the planning, monitoring, and controlling of the maintenacne and the investment budget for the Eddyville site.                                                     

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages the planning, coordination, documentation and cost control of the technical maintenance, repair, preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance for the CD plant, the Enzyme plant and related buildings and utility/infrastructure systems.
  • Supports efforts for compliance with governmental and corporate rules and regulations regarding inspections, revisions and testing.
  • Supports efforts for the technical reliability of the plants and technical utility/infrastructure systems on Eddyville site. Regular update of the risk assessment with FMEA analysis based on historic data from SAP and other documents and following definition of mitigation measures. Supports managing and maintaining proper inventories and documentation of spare parts, tools and repair equipment.
  • Manages the designated maintenance shop and storage areas including order, cleanliness and optimal use of space for spares storage and tools.
  • Supports efforts for defined technical optimization of technical facilities (e.g. equipment, piping, instrumentation,  electrical,...) regarding cost, functionality and capacity. Supports efforts for compliant technical implementation of permitting requirements and preparation of technical documents for permits.
  • Preparing budget proposals for BP1 and BP5 for Eddyville site by August/September of each year.
  • Manages the technical safety of the plant processes in compliance with governmental and corporate rules and regulations. Supports operations personnel to follow and maintain safety operational requirements. Focus on specific PSM (Process Safety Management) elements, including mechanical integrity, explosion protection, high pressure equipment, electrical safety, as well as WACKER ANSIKO program (machine safety).
  • Coordinate with Production Manager/Production Supervisor, Chief Operators and or Quality manager to determine most efficient schedules in events such as major repairs, shutdowns, campaign changes and expansions, to minimize down time.
  • The plant engineer closely cooperates with WCC engineering and with corporate Biosolutions engineering regarding, budgets, technical approach, systems and procedures.



  • Bachelors degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Bio-processing Engineering. 
  • 1 to 3 years experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations including PSM, environmental regulations, GMP and food safety related regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 22001 and Kosher standards as well as basic knowledge of ISO 9001/14001/50001.
  • Project management skills. Basic skills with SAP and Microsoft office products.
