What you will do:
The Logistics Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of our daily operations at our Eddyville, IA site. This position is responsible for ensuring all necessary materials are on-site and available to keep production running, as well as overseeing coordination of finished product shipping to our third-party warehouses. The logistics department is responsible for confirming accuracy of incoming materials, trailers are in appropriate condition to ship food ingredients, the warehouse is in acceptable condition, and ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete and filed.
- Review monthly inventory reports submitted by operations department and order needed materials to ensure proper stock
- Communicate with third party warehouse to ensure proper materials are available on-site to support operations
- Coordinate with third party logistics service providers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of finished products to support customer supply
- Assist in investigating and reconciling month end inventory discrepancies.
- Oversee logistics paperwork to ensure all internal and regulatory requirements/standards are met (i.e. FDA, Food Defense, Food Safety etc.)
- Review and confirm trailer inspection forms, entry control forms, CoAs, BOLs etc. for the purpose of meeting the necessary site requirements
- Receive materials in ERP system timely once physically received on-site
- Oversee accurate inventory movements between on-site and off-site warehouses to succeed in annual mock recall drills
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and GMP guidelines.
- Foster a safe work environment ensuring proper use of PPE, fork truck driving and adherence to Wacker safety requirements
- Oversee shipping of hazardous material and work with EHSS to oversee proper shipping of hazardous waste
- Work with other departments to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation of the plant.
What we need from you:
- High school diploma, 2-year degree in Logistics related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience working in food and/or pharma grade plant, specific to a Supply Chain role
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Ability to lead team members, assign tasks, and ensure efficient workflows. Identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for food and pharma grade plants, including FDA and cGMP guidelines.
- Familiarity with SAP software and computer programs to order, receive and execute purchase requisitions.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to field calls after-hours, on an infrequent basis.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds.
