
This position is responsible for monitoring environmental, health, safety and security compliance including but not limited to ensuring implementation of corporate policies and directives, facilitating the ISO14001 and 45001 programs, and overseeing the security program at the WACKER Eddyville site. This position is responsible for driving safety for the site and contractor personnel.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, implement and maintain an effective site safety program and follow Group Safety Directives – through intervention, inspections, and coaching. Coordinate required safety reviews.
- Lead, develop, implement and maintain an effective environmental program achieving compliance to applicable laws, regulations, and corporate directives. The environmental system will focus on legal compliance through training, coaching, inspection, and monitoring.
- Lead, develop, implement and maintain an effective health and occupational medicine program insuring proper medical surveillance, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and initiatives to eliminate injuries, engineer out PPE requirements where possible.
- Oversee the site security program including compliance with CT-PAT and Corporate security assessments.
- Monitor, perform trend analysis and drive improvements in EHSS via tracking of safety observations, open actions from audits and inspections, and impacts and aspects for ISO programs
- Responsible for internal and external reporting with respect to EHSS topics while coordinating permitting requirements and preparation of related documentation with interna and external functions.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of experience in a safety or environmental field including managing safety/environmental programs at an industrial site
- Ability to build an effective safety culture through meaningful discussion with team members
- Knowledge of OSHA and ISO 45001 regulations, accident investigations, hazard analysis & risk assessment
- Experience interfacing with regulatory bodies such as OSHA, EPA and Iowa DNR
- Experience conducting OSHA required safety and environmental trainings
- Experience conducting internal audits of manufacturing sites
- Ability to work with little to no direct supervision expected
- Excellent communication skills with both internal EDY parties and external regional and global parties
- Ability to build relationships and trust with internal EDY team
- Intermediate/Advanced computer skills with MS tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Willingness and ability to learn new tasks and tools (SAP, SPIRIT, Wacker internal processes)
