Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for monitoring environmental, health and safety compliance; ensuring implementation of corporate policies and directives, and facilitating the ISO14001 and 18001 programs in the WACKER Eddyville site.  This position is responsible for leading safety programs for the site and contractor personnel. This position will oversee the site security program.  This position will also oversee EHSS programs within the division in the US Region 

 

  • Drive effective site safety and programs and follow Group Safety Directives – through intervention, inspections, and coaching. Coordinate required safety reviews. This position will lead safety compliance efforts with support from Site Director, other site staff, and WCC EHSS.
  • Ensure compliance with Process Safety Regulations and Company Directives, including facilitating Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Dust Hazard Analysis, follow-up and tracking of action items from these activities and ensuring and facilitating employee participation in these activities
  • Drive an effective environmental program achieving compliance to applicable laws, regulations, and Corporate Directives.  The environmental system will focus on legal compliance through training, coaching, inspection and monitoring
  • Drive an effective health and occupational medicine program insuring proper medical surveillance, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and initiatives to eliminate injuries, engineer out PPE requirements where possible
  • Oversee the site security program including compliance with CT-PAT, Food Safety, and Corporate security assessments
  • Monitor, perform trend analysis, and drive improvements in EHSS via tracking of safety observations, open actions from audits and inspections, and impacts and
    aspects for ISO programs.   Responsible for internal and external reporting with respect to EHSS topics. Coordinate permitting requirements and preparation of related documentation with internal and external functions
    .  Provide Divisional Oversite in the Region, support other sites as necessary

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry, Physics, or other technical degree required
  • Advanced training in OSHA or environmental regulations or third party certifications also preferred (example: Certified Hazardous Material Manager, OSHA 30 hour course, etc.)                                                          
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role required.
  • Experience in the EHSS field, including managing safety programs at industry sites, familiarity with the PSM standards, and other OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with environmental regulations including Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), stormwater, and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC). 
  • Computer knowledge – MS Office applications, SAP, etc
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present and train all levels of personnel within the organization.
