WACKER POLYSILICON is the global leader in the production of polycrystalline hyperpure silicon for the semiconductor and solar solar industries. At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a Temporary Technical Operator - Crushing to join our growing team.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Pack Line:  Inspect each bag for proper packaging, contents, and poly product defects.  For example:
    • Folds in the bag’s end seals
    • Open bags
    • Material in the end or back seals
    • Oversize pieces/too many fines
    • Checking the label to make sure all the information is correct. 
    • Identify Foreign Objects in the bags.
  • Off-loading Packaging Line. For Example:
    • You will use the manipulator to remove the boxes from the pack line and put on a pallet.  Making sure labels are all facing out, then putting on the conveyor to go to next location for the machine to band and wrap.
  • Transport:
    • Inspect the final product before it is placed on a truck and keep 2nd floor stocked.
  • Break table:
    • Move the Polysilicon from a rod pallet to the brake table, using the mechanical crane..  Use the large and small hammers to break down the poly and push into the conveyor crusher to be crushed down into a smaller size they are running.
  • Classification:
    • Classification will inspect the rods, remove the electrodes and carbon, classify, and place into the rod pallet for storing until it will be ran at the break table, operate RRDs Safely. 
    • Approve or Downgrade - This is the material with defects, floor material, small rods that is not rated for good poly.  Sleeve downgraded product in to barrels according to the categorized downgrade labels.
  • Operate a pallet Jack and overhead cranes safely

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, HISET Completion or GED

  • Some Manufacturing Experience preferred
