What you will do:

The Technical Specialist will provide ongoing field support to maintain the high efficiency and quality work currently performed by the Silanes Polysilicon Operations Technicians (SPOT) team.  This position is responsible for facilitating the discussion and implementation of ongoing improvements to current work as well as providing the required hands-on training for mechanical skills needed in the field. This position will be responsible for maintaining current material lists and verifying what is received in the field, tool inventory and inspection, and all quality inspections of material as required. The Technical Specialist will observe current workflow on projects identified by the team as future routine work to develop draft work instructions for the team based on observations and improvement discussions with management.

 

  • Observe current workflow on projects identified by the team as a possibility to become routine work and develop draft version of work instructions based on observations. Work with team to gain complete capability to perform complete revision/rebuild.
  • Work together with SPOT team management and Engineering to ensure quality of all ongoing work and make suggestions about possible strategies to improve turnaround time.     
  • This position will be responsible for maintaining current material lists and verifying what is received in the field, tool inventory and inspection, and all quality inspections of material as required. 
  • Assess tools, rigging, and methods used for all field work performed by team followed by discussion and support to implement ongoing improvements.
  • Assist team with mechanical work in the field when necessary.

 

What we need from you:

  • Associate degree in an engineering field (i.e., Mechatronics) or Certification in Chemical Process Technology  is required along with 5+ years of industrial chemical experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a technical/production environment required
  • 2+ years of experience in inspection/quality control
  • Proven process improvement and project management skills in a manufacturing company required
  • Experience in process improvement and working with various computer application systems (i.e., SAP, Scheduling software, and project management software) preferred
  • Demonstrates competency around safety requirements and basics of operational safety
  • Working knowledge of hand tools and pipefitting. Basic knowledge of rigging.
  • In field experience working in conjunction with contractors
  • Advanced analytical skills
