We are currently seeking a Technical Specialist to join our Infrastructure team in Charleston, TN


What you will do:

The Technical Specialist for Infrastructure is to provide operations support for water related processes - Industrial/Fire Water Systems, River Water Treatment, Cooling Water, Potable Water, Oily Water Separator, Chemical Tank Farm and CUB Building Facility. This specialist will also provide operations support for Wastewater Treatment systems that include absorbers, sewer, vessels, and containment basins. This position will also support boilers, utility gases, and environmental compliance processes for Site Infrastructure processes.


  • Support Safe Operation of all Infrastructure processes.  Ensure regulatory and environmental permit compliance.  Issue SWPs and supplemental permits as needed to support Maintenance activities.  Facilitate MOC equipment and DCS/PLC programming implementation and operations trainings.
  • Oversee operational status and emergency response for Waste Water Treatment.  Includes water treatment chemical dosing and related water chemistry, filter press operations, pump and motor operations, residue vessel processing tracking, safe work permitting and associated PODs. Liaison with Engineering, Maintenance, Process Support, and CSR.                   
  • Oversee operational status and emergency response for Fire/Industrial Water System.  Includes water treatment, Trident operations, pump and motor operations, T4 waste residuals, safe work permitting, potable water and associated PODs.  Includes fire pump system along with the diesel storage, treatment chemicals and oily water separator.  Serve as liaison with Engineering, Maintenance and Process Support
  • Oversee operational status and emergency response for Cooling Water System.  Includes water treatment chemistry, pump and motor operations, fans, safe work permitting and associated PODs. Liaison with Engineering, Maintenance and Process Support.
  • Perform regulatory water inspections.  Maintain hazardous waste storage facilities for the site as well as TDEC water compliance testing.  Complete required reporting documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Assist with Infrastructure Training.  Support LSO and training compliance for team members.  Provide forklift and man-lift training as needed for team members.
  • Create and update PODs and Work Instructions to support process operations.


What we need from you:

  • An associate degree in a science-related field (i.e. chemistry, environmental science, engineering, etc.); a Water Plant Operator License; or a Chemical Process Technology Certification is required along with 5 years of chemical industry experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a technical/production environment required
  • Water treatment experience for water treatment and cooling water applications
  • Knowledge of pumps and motors for fluid applications and electrical instrumentation
  • Safety experience as related to confined space entry, LOTO, first line breaks, EIP development, etc.
  • Experience with Interpretation and utilization of P&IDs
  • License to work with water treatment processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites
  • Knowledge to use and operate OSI – PI system in addition to the DCS
  • SAP Software applications experience for use in work order creation and processing through completion
