WACKER POLYSILICON is the global leader in the production of polycrystalline hyperpure silicon for the semiconductor and solar solar industries. At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a Technical Operator-Deposition 1 to join our growing team.
The Technical Operator Deposition works in small teams focused on the safe and efficient harvest of polysilicon from reactors to ensure continuous operations. To complete this task, Technical Operators will open and reassemble reactors and operate various forms of mobile equipment and overhead cranes. Additionally, Technical Operators will input batch and downtime information into digital tracking systems, report on various production issues, and provide feedback to technical staff.
Technical Operators will work with management to achieve reactor turnaround standards and also to find ways to optimize and continuously improve efficiencies, throughput, and uptime. Technical Operators will have support staff as needed and they are expected to contact them whenever additional expertise are required. Operators are obligated to follow company policies regarding health and environmental protection, work safety, plant safety and quality. Operators are responsible for RCRA generation as relating to container and labeling usage, maintenance and storage functions, and regular inspections of RCRA applicable areas as well as other duties as they are assigned.
High School Diploma or GED are required
Technical and mechanical aptitude as well as basic computer skills
Physical strength and endurance are essential for this position
The ability to effectively communicate with team members and other stakeholders
Skill set to operate in a fast-paced production environment while focusing on safety, quality, and precision
Must be able to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, and vibration
Must be able to work 12-hour, rotating shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, etc...)
