WACKER POLYSILICON is the global leader in the production of polycrystalline hyperpure silicon for the semiconductor and solar solar industries. At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a(n) Summer Intern - Environmental (EHSS) to join our growing team.

 

  Wacker is currently seeking one paid summer intern to work inside of our Charleston TN facility. We are looking for someone who is an ambitious problem solver. 

  This is an 8-week program, commencing the beginning of June and concludes the end of July.The intern will be asked to work on several projects within our Environmental, Health, Safety & Security Area.

  Under the direction of the EHSS Manager, the EHSS intern will support facility EHS operations by completing critical tasks designed to promote compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and recommend more robust and through site chemical inventory that supports various regulatory programs (PSM, HAZCOM, EPCRA, etc.) and reporting requirements
  • Successfully completes required EHSS sampling (for air emissions, industrial hygiene needs, and various other permit and statutory required sampling)
  • Completion of legal inventory updates related to regulatory changes and routine reviews
  • Update necessary ISO required documentation

 

Job Qualitifications:

  • Must be a rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior student enrolled in a university in any of the following majors:  Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA
