At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a(n) Summer Engineering Intern to be a part of our growing team.



  Our paid summer internship program is an 8-week program, commencing the beginning of June and concludes the end of July.  The intern will be asked to work on a couple of projects within our Engineering team along side the Engineering manager to complete tasks listed below.   

Job Responsibilities:

An Intern may be asked to work on one or more of the following projects, depending on the Area/Department:   

  • Research, identify and recommend reliability improvements for the Reactor Power Controllers in Deposition
  • Interpret, field-confirm, and establish bills of materials for skid control panels
  • Design and recommend Rod Pair Voltage Measurement System for Deposition
  • Develop and implement an Alarm Management Program for Poly Operations
  • Implement freeze protection for Deposition area equipment
  • Drive implementation of new Scrubber bubble-cap tray design for increased backpressure on header
  • Develop plan to refurbish and recommission Deaerator system for CSR steam generators
  • Decommission steam desuperheater system in HCl-Generation plant
  • Define and recommend safe operating limits for fixed equipment with high failure rates / repair costs
  • Support engineering team to complete review and optimization of preventative maintenance plans, critical spare parts definition, and equipment documentation
  • Relocation of sump pump
  • Install sample line for AB813
  • Scoping and cost savings calculation for replacing concrete trench covers with grating
  • Eliminate 3-way valves in hydrolysis building
  • Column pressure instrumentation relocation
  • Standardize procedures, mostly with corrective service for fire alarms
  • Work in Desigo HAS, from trends to single-view screens to remote notifications
  • Create access to several HVAC units
  • Design and install catch pans, splinter guards and additional machine components to increase yield and reduce product loss
  • Partner with Operations to develop and optimize workflow for Root Cause Analysis


Job Qualitifications:

  • Must be a rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior student enrolled in a university in any of the following majors:  Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA
