What you will do:
The purpose of this position is to drive Safety performance and compliance at the Operator/First Line Leader level within CHA and support the Safety Department in related safety activities with primary focus on field/plant operations. This position will spend the majority of the time in the site’s production areas.
Observe, Support, coach and advise Team Members on safety in all areas of the site. Primary focus on field operations, safety compliance and positive safety behavior/culture
- Coordinate and perform safety training as required in support of the site general safety program
- Conduct field-based safety inspections scheduled and as needed (LTT, Respiratory protection, hot work, work from height, PSSR, etc.)
- Support the Industrial Hygiene program by assisting with exposure monitoring, ergonomic reviews, and associated tasks
- Other duties as required
What we need from you:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, chemistry, environmental science, engineering or EHSS related field.
- Minimum 3 years of EHSS experience in an industrial/manufacturing/chemical environment preferred
- Previous experience working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred
- 1 year of experience utilizing SAP preferred
- Experience with a multi-plant environment is a plus
- Experience with Process and Plant safety aspects
- Experience working with a medical department (nurse, PA, etc.)
- Detailed knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and associated standards
- Preferred - Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Graduate Safety Professional (GSP)
- Experience and/or training in Incident investigation; root cause analysis; safety inspections/auditing
- PSM related experience (1-3 years)
- A comprehensive knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements in a variety of areas and of existing industry best practices
- Knowledge of safety requirements related to domestic and international supply chain operations. ISO and OHSAS knowledge preferred.
- Knowledgeable in areas of safety such as HAZMAT, OSHA regulations, accident investigations, hazard analysis/risk assessment, and process safety
- Excellent organizational, analytical, written/ verbal communication, and priority setting skills
- Able to give/receive constructive feedback
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including the ability to quickly learn third party software use
- Ability to analyze and research information without direct supervision.
