What you will do:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for quality assurance of the Polysilicon manufacturing process at the Charleston, TN plant. This position monitors manufacturing activity and data and analyzes ‘in process’ and final product data to identify trends to ensure quality objectives and metrics are achieved.


  • Monitor and audit floor level manufacturing of 'Product Realization' to ensure quality performances and metrics are met. Including adherence to SOPs as well as division procedures by all support groups in the manufacturing area.           
  • Analyze data to identify quality trends early; develop and enhance tools to improve monitoring.
  • Lead cross functional workgroups to solve quality problems. Internal Claims and review external customer complaints.
  • Represent quality aspects in the regular (morning) work inspection rounds and regular scheduled Plant Team meetings and/or special quality discussions. Participate in the prevention and remedy of quality problems through technical contributions and management/moderation of the respective problem-solving team.
  • Conduct SPC analyses and reviews jointly with the "Plant Team" and facilitate record keeping and resolve technical issues with Global Quality Systems related to SPC.
  • Support Quality IMS activities: Internal Error Investigations, FMEA, Audits (Internal and External) with IATF guideline requirements. Participate in the resolution of customer problems, participate in MRBs. Special projects may be assigned also relating to quality topics


What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (i.e., chemical, industrial, mechanical, etc.)   
  • 3+ years in manufacturing environment using engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Specialized expertise in quality tools, Lean and Six-Sigma tools, ISO 9001 requirements a plus
  • Detailed knowledge of integrated production systems (raw-product manufacturing and chemical plant manufacturing
  • Knowledge of analytical processes, statistics, and computer-aided data analysis (minitab, Microsoft Office)
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing. Knowledge of the fundamentals of polysilicon production and/or chlorosilane production a plus. Working in matrix global organizations a plus.
