At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a(n) Process Analyzer Engineer to be a part of our growing team.



The Process Analyzer Engineer is responsible for providing and improving all in field analytical equipment and analysis for the site. The Process Engineer assures continuously high product quality and ensure that the Wacker Polysilicon online analytics technology is up to date, functioning, and operating safely. This positions' functions as a cross-functional analytical liaison between business units. The Process Engineer reports to the Director of Operations/Silanes at the Wacker Polysilicon plant located in Charleston, TN. This position will manage a Specialist Online Analytics to carry out routine maintenance.


Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the supervision and support services for existing online analytics instrumentation with the technical department, thus ensuring machine uptime.
  • Translate the overall technology and product strategy into in field analytical equipment to monitor real time process data 
  • Initiate, define, and conduct projects with internal and external partners to improve in field analytical equipment. Provide expert advisory service to other disciplines.
  • Define SOP's for handling online analytics equipment and instrumentation. Train employees on how to handle online analytics instrumentation.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance and instrument maintenance engineers.
  • Implement proper data storage, data extraction, and data analysis functions for the data generated by in field analytical equipment; Troubleshoot inconsistent results.



  • Bachelor's degree in Process Analyzer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Process Technology, Chemistry or similar field required.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Process Technology, Chemistry or similar field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of chemical manfacturing industry experience
  • Experience/knowledge in at least one of the following three fields: 1) in field analytical equipment, 2) data handling, databases, data extraction and data processing; 3) process modeling.
  • Experience in chemical industry. Experience in silane chemistry, especially chlorosilanes, or silicon-based (or other inorganic) semiconductors is preferred.

  • Several years of practical experience in the field of instrumental analysis (Chromatography or Spectroscopy).

  • Interdisciplinary mindset and communication skills for developing new analysis methods in a complex matrix organization.

  • Talent to plainly explain complex technical interrelationships to colleagues with diverse backgrounds.

  • Team player, able to work with various functions and levels of the organization, who is keen on practical work orientation and striving for continuous improvement.

  • Ideal candidate should be independent, responsible, well-organized, and a self-starter with a target-oriented work style.
