We are currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Crushing Department at our site in Charleston, TN.

 

What you will do:

The Operations Manager, Crushing oversees all activities of the Crushing Department including safety, quality, meeting production goals, organization and personnel planning, costs, production reporting and continuous improvement activities. The purpose of the job is to enable the manufacturing of the products of the Polysilicon production division at the Charleston site of the Polysilicon business division in such a way as to satisfy corporate targets and goals, considering all aspects of occupational safety, environmental protection, and production quality, through appropriate use of technical, organizational and human resources. The jobholder shall give due consideration to the needs and potential of the corresponding departments, observe internal company regulations (e.g., corporate policies concerning safety, the environment and quality) and strategic division targets, as well as all prevailing industry standards and regulations.

 

Managerial Duties

  • Ensure people and process safety is a precondition of all activities of the department       
  • Ensure that quality is precondition in all our processes and products
  • Plan, regulate and coordinate production processes in the area of responsibility (Crushing)
  • Monitor production results for continuous improvement purposes (safety, environment, quality, productivity and cost-effectiveness)
  • Manage subordinate employees and initiate necessary qualification measures
  • Fulfill corporate obligations in regards to compliance with safety and environmental-protection legislation
  • Ensure all required trainings are timely made by all team members in his/her area of responsibility.

Specialized Duties

  • Ensure the attainment of planned production targets at the required level of quality         
  • Plan production capacity and staffing
  • Prepare proposals for capital investment to ensure, optimize and expand production capacity and sustainability
  • Continuously monitor workflows to identify areas for potential rationalization, making suggestions for potential process changes
  • Participate in the planning and specification of priorities for development and production proposals

Special Assignments

  • Participate in strategic projects as project manager or leader
  • Assume overall responsibility for the operations of GB-P’s Polysilicon production division across production sites

 

What we need from you:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, physics, engineer, or similar field is required; technical degree preferred
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • 3-5+ years of leadership and management experience is required
  • Production management experience in a complex chemical manufacturing plant
  • Experience leading cross-functional organizational groups
  • Demonstrated results in a highly matrixed global organization
  • Demonstrated results improving and sustaining EHSS performance and safety-focused culture
  • Demonstrated safety and quality leadership and continuous improvement mindset
  • Pronounced leadership qualities
  • Strong business acumen
