Job Responsibilities:
- Perform predictive, preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance on utility and infrastructure systems. Equipment includes pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation, electrical and mechanical equipment, and components
- Maintain, inspect, align, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical plant equipment e.g., pumps, piping, valves, process equipment
- Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical plant equipment e.g., motors and instrumentation
- Perform routine trouble shooting activities (Mechanical and E&IC)
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) effectively to accomplish required maintenance in an efficient and organized manner
- Optimize plant preventative maintenance program to meet OEM recommendations, regulatory requirements, and corporate maintenance philosophy
- Responsible for maintaining logs, manuals, records, blueprints, and operating procedures
- Incorporate safe behavior into all activities and consistently complies with all established safety and health policies and procedures
- Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
- Represent WACKER'S interests towards authorities, suppliers, and contractors
- Provide start-up support to Infrastructure/Utility Operations
- Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering & Maintenance department, Operations, and other service units
- Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance with WACKER'S policies and procedures
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
- High School Diploma, Journeymen (or higher-level education) in the field of Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or Industrial Maintenance or related field of equivalent vocational/technical training
- Associate Degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or related filed or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience is preferred
- Minimum of three (3) year of experience as a Mechatronics Technician with documented field experience in troubleshooting and inspection of plant equipment and systems
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred in maintaining mechanical and electrical systems and applications (pumps, motors, instrumentation, piping etc.), preferably in a chemical plant, refinery, or large process plant
- Knowledge and experience in calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation (Pressure, Temperature Flow and Level etc.)
- Experience with shop and fabrication shop equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough technical knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering and/or industrial mechanical maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Thorough understanding of basic mechanics, mechanical theory, mechanical troubleshooting techniques, and safe work practices
- Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments and power tools
- Repair experience with gear drives, pumps, piping, rigging, fabrication, control valves, couplings, bearings, mixers, steam systems, and repair of complex mechanical equipment and systems
- Team player attitude
- Able to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Strong multi-tasking competency
- Thorough understanding of P&IDs
- Able to read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
- Must be able to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment mechanical equipment and vibration, wet and or humid weather conditions, high precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Exposure to occasionally loud noise levels.
- Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, dust masks, respirators, gloves etc.).
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb high ladders, walk out on platforms up to 40 meters, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl, lift and or move more than 60 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close, color, distance, and depth perception.
