We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant for our site in Charleston, TN.
What you will do:
The Medical Assistant will support the Charleston site by providing on-site medical clinic, including emergency response and scheduled appointments for our Wacker team members. In addition, this position will also be responsible for greeting patients when they arrive, answering phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and updating/filing patient medical records.
- Preparing patients for examination and assisting the physician assistant during examinations. When necessary, you will also administer vaccinations and process prescriptions to be filled at the patient’s preferred pharmacy.
- Prepare rooms and ensure supplies are ready, ordering more when necessary
- Assist in procedures and examinations
- Take and record patient vitals
- Records patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files. Utilize Electronic Medical Records system
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required; Properly disposes of contaminated supplies
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
- Disinfects, cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations; Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
- All other duties assigned.
What we need from you:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associates degree in a medical field, preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience of working for a hospital or a healthcare practice.
- TN Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, EMT or other Medical Assistant certification, preferred.
- Familiar with medical terminology
- Inventory management experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain records
- Able to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to adapts to changes in the work environment; Manage competing demands; Able to handle frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
