WACKER POLYSILICON is the global leader in the production of polycrystalline hyperpure silicon for the semiconductor and solar solar industries. At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a Manager- Site Logistics to join our growing team.


The Site Logistics manager will be responsible to manage the site logistics and warehouse function for the Polysilicon business and logistics at the Charleston site in such a way as to satisfy corporate targets and goals, taking into account all aspects of occupational safety, environmental protection, domestic and international supply chain processes, and quality, through appropriate use of technical, organizational and human resources. The jobholder shall give due consideration to the needs and potential of the corresponding departments, observe internal company regulations (e.g., corporate policies concerning quality, safety and the environment) and strategic division targets, as well as all prevailing industry standards and regulations.


  • Manage and provide professional and disciplinary supervision of the Polysilicon warehouse and site logistics staff in accordance with company regulations, while ensuring that staff exercise independence in the performance of their duties. Ensure an open and creative working atmosphere aimed at staff motivation and continuous improvement of all processes including proper training, development opportunities, and effectiveness
  • Manage shipping, warehousing, and on-site logistics, and further develop sound logistical and operational processes for the site. High focus on safety. Coordinate with global teams and on-site departments . 
  • Implement, monitor, and drive both divisional and global Supply Chain goals for the site and initiate individual site-specific goals 
  • Provide functional leadership in supply chain practices and facilitates continuous improvement of partnership between its internal customers and Wacker's Suppliers to achieve lowest total cost of ownership for all procured Materials and Services      
  • Consult with the Director of Logistics USA and the global head of logistics and take part in various site committees
  • Eliminate risks to safety to ensure a safe environment for people in his/her area of responsibility; as well as taking measures to avoid risks to third (external) parties 
  • Conduct or organize presentations, meetings, reports,  and key performance indicators
  • Procure the equipment necessary for a safe working environment within site logistics, and ensure that this equipment is maintained in proper condition


  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain
  • Master's Degree in Business or Supply Chain, preferred
  • 5+ years in Logistics, Supply chain or warehouse processes
  • 5+ years relevant experience in a professional leadership role
  • Knowledge of procedures or products related to business
  • Knowledge of import, export, and domestic shipping including compliance
  • Attention to safety detail a priority
  • Good IT skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, and PC software)
  • Ability to work independently and cooperate with all the relevant partners at the site 
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking, flexibility and ability to work under pressure
  • Working with a 3PL provider
