we are looking for you as a(n) Major Equipment Revision Planner.

We are currently seeking a Major Equipment Revision Planner (MERP) for our site in Charleston, TN.

 

What you will do:

The Major Equipment Revision Planner is responsible for the planning and coordination of Major Equipment Revisions to provide for safe operations, regulatory compliance, and major equipment availability for WPNA (Wacker Polysilicon North America). The MERP is responsible for tracking costs for assigned revisions via MS Project MERP templates, SAP, and related resources. Safety is our priority and the MERP Team maintains a safety awareness mindset in every aspect of their role. Professional communication of revision progress and budget information to Stakeholders is an essential function of this role. This position will work directly with Maintenance, Mechanical Integrity, Engineering, Operations, and contractors or internally managed contractors to define and execute the specific workflow for each revision. The MERP Team must be creative and open to new ideas and "outside the box" thinking; committed to continuous improvement and development of revision processes that elevate the ability of our site.

 

  • Responsible for reviewing the initial work scope and developing a standard MERP scope with material and equipment spare planning included.
  • Responsible for developing and/or evaluating cost estimates to decide on utilization of resources.
  • Perform general quality checks as required.
  • Assess field safety of work scope and address/modify as necessary in partnership with EHSS and Operations
  • Responsible for executing best practice project management.
  • Function as the lead contact for revision activities and provide leadership for collaborative decisions.
  • Schedule and perform Mechanically Complete and Pre-Start Up Safety Protocol walks with required participants to ensure the system is approved for return to service.
  • Provide a follow up assessment of each completed revision to evaluate overall performance and develop improvement plans based on learnings.
  • Support "best practices" between production areas.
  • Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
  • Represent WACKER'S interests towards authorities, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Compile and provide reports related to area of responsibility.    
  • Execute and document required revision maintenance tasks using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) effectively in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Support technical training of maintenance technicians for major equipment revision related tasks within WPNA. 
  • Assist in the development of the maintenance group/organization and related guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Support development of specifications, standards, and codes.
  • Cooperate with groups and individuals across all departments and service units with focus on achieving optimal results/solutions from a corporate/enterprise perspective.
  • Support "best practices" between production areas.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost.
  • Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance with WACKER'S policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

 

What we need from you:

  • Associate degree in a relevant technical field OR a journeyman licensure OR equivalent certifications in a related field is required 
  • 5+ years of related experience is required
  • Experience with complying with quality requirements and/or performing Quality Control tasks.
  • Experience with managing mechanical work scopes from the planning phase through mechanically complete.
  • Ability to assume lead coordination role in an environment of schedule and cost pressure.
  • Capability to professionally manage revision schedules to align with real time priorities and department specific requirements.
  • Capable of maintaining objective judgment in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to make decisions based on factual knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance software. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • General understanding of engineering principles and maintenance practices for industrial mechanical application
  • Technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
  • Able to read and understand complex piping diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • Must be a team player with strong commitment to team performance.
  • Strong multi-tasking competency; “Verbund” mindset.
  • Ability to meet the essential functions of the job.
  • Willing to work weekends and rotating shifts if needed.
  • Ability and willingness for domestic and international travel
