We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Shop Manager for our site in Charleston, TN.

 

What you will do:

The Maintenance Shop Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Shop; providing maintenance supervision, to include predictive, preventive, and emergency maintenance services, to site maintenance and as necessary to provide for safe operations and regulatory compliance. The on-site Maintenance Shop directly supports production, utility operations, and infrastructure systems.

 

  • Maintain safe operating conditions of the maintenance shop and equipment supporting production units, utility, and infrastructure systems. Maintain regulatory compliance of the maintenance shop and equipment supporting production units, utility, and infrastructure systems.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of ASME, NBIC, ASTM, and AWS codes and specifications; specifically replated to vessel/flange routine repairs and spool fabrication.
  • Manage and coordinate 3rd party maintenance service providers. Manage maintenance budgets and cost centers regarding maintenance shop activities and 3rd party service providers. Support “best practices” between the maintenance shop and production areas. Manage continuous improvement activities in the maintenance shop related to safety, quality, and cost.
  • Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams. Represent WACKER’s interests towards authorities, suppliers, and contractors. Compile and provide reports related to area of responsibility. Perform all tasks and assignments and accordance to WACKER’s policies and procedures
  • Uses SAP effectively to accomplish and document required maintenance in and efficient and organized manner. Support development of specifications, standards, and codes. Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering & Maintenance department, Operations, and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results/solutions.
  • Ensure all required trainings are timely made by all team members in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Assist in the development of the maintenance group/organization and related guidelines, processes, and procedures. Supervise and train maintenance technicians. Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support to production units, utility, and infrastructure systems.

 

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher level education) in the field of mechanical/electrical engineering preferred and/or industrial mechanical maintenance.
  • 10+ years of combined professional experience in the field of mechanical/electrical engineering and/or industrial mechanical maintenance, supervision or planning experience.
  • Knowledge / Proficiency re: flange and field machining is preferred, including expertise with standard processes for achieving specifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure. Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements. Ability to read and understand complex diagrams.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and maintenance practices. Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial mechanical/electrical maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards and codes.
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts.
  • Mature leadership and employee management skills combined with team player attitude.
  • Objective judgment and fact-based decision-making approach.
  • Strong multi-tasking competency.
  • Ability and willingness for domestic and international travel.
