What you will do:
This position performs a variety of maintenance plans and scheduling tasks for the equipment operations at the Charleston site. This position will coordinate and communicate any possibility for maintenance or turn around activities within the timetables as necessary to provide for safe operations, regulatory compliance and equipment availability related to equipment and systems plant wide.
Technical Duties:
- Plan and schedule maintenance turn around and/or revision services to maintain safe operating conditions of production units, utility, and infrastructure systems
- Plan and schedule maintenance services to maintain regulatory compliance of production units, utility, and infrastructure systems.
- Order spare parts in conjunction with scheduled turn around or revision services, including regulatory compliance activities.
- Evaluate and schedule maintenance work utilizing CMMS software.
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities for 3rd party maintenance service providers.
- Ensure all safety and environmental related maintenance and technical controls are done in a timely manner and all P&ID are kept up date.
Administrative Duties:
- Represent WACKER’S interests towards authorities, suppliers, and contractors.
- Compile and provide reports related to area of responsibility.
- Execute and document required maintenance using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) effectively in an efficient and organized manner.
- Train Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians on the planning and scheduling system used in turn around and/or revision activities at WPNA.
- Assist in the development of the maintenance group/organization and related guidelines, processes, and procedures.
- Support development of specifications, standards, and codes.
- Cooperate with groups and individuals within the engineering and maintenance department, operations, and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results/solutions from a corporate/enterprise perspective.
- Support “best practices” between production areas.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost.
- Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance with WACKER’S policies and procedures.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
What we need from you:
- Associates Degree, Journeymen (or higher) in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering and/or Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical / EI&C Maintenance Planning
- 5+ years of related experience is required
- Experience with managing projects from the planning phase through execution
- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure
- Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles and maintenance practices
- Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes
- Read and understand complex piping diagrams and mechanical drawings
- Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
- Leadership skills combined with team player attitude
- Objective judgment and fact-based decision-making approach
- Strong multi-tasking competency
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles and maintenance practices
- Willing to work weekends and rotating shifts if needed
- Preferred, but not required: Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) experience.
