At our site in Charleston, we are currently looking for a ​MES & IT Laboratory Support Engineer​ to join our growing team.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support logistics and production process applications for poly manufacturing automation and data acquisition. Monitor, support and maintain manufacturing execution and warehouse management applications and databases.
  • Monitor MES, WMS, LAB applications interface to Distributed Control System as well as Enterprise-Resource-Planning system.
  • Investigate, diagnose and solve system related faults and issues for IT manufacturing process systems.
  • Participate in IT and business specification requirements planning, development, execution and closing of projects.
  • Provide local consulting for global IT solutions and IT factory applications. Schedule installation work, liaising with all concerned to ensure that installation priorities are met and disruption to the organization is minimized.
  • Support in the design, development, and qualification of automated processes, equipment, and MES systems.
  • Test new factory MES, WMS, LAB applications software releases and provide end-user training and support.       
  • Identify opportunities and continue to improve existing processes, equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure stable and efficient operation of all automation systems for a 24x7 commercial manufacturing facility. 
  • Manage the Laboratory IT architecture of Instrument connectivity, software compatibility with internal standards, architecture for client-server systems etc.          
  • Responsible for Laboratory Demand Management in the Americas region and communicate these to Global Corporate IT. Planning, implementation and integration of applications and services for the existing IT architecture.
  • Provide support for the Americas region's lab PCs (incl. lab software) and SAP interfaces.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT ,Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, and 5 years of relevant experience in either manufacturing automation or equipment integration production facilities. 
  • Experience to include Windows based systems, Windows Server, network technology, Oracle, SQL and Office Applications, warehouse management system (WMS) and manufacturing executing system (MES), factory applications such as PI or SPC and software for laboratory equipment (e.g. spectrometers, titrators, particle size and shape analyzers, combustion analyzer) in a manufacturing environment.
