WACKER POLYSILICON is the global leader in the production of polycrystalline hyperpure silicon for the semiconductor and solar solar industries. At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a(n) Logistics Supervisor to join our growing team.


The Supervisor Logistics will be responsible for the supervision of all activities relating to  Finished Goods Warehouse Operations and Site Operating Supplies Logistics.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the timely execution of all internal and external customer orders to meet customer requirements.  Daily interface will also take place with the business areas on necessary details to insure customers receive their orders on time and error free
  • Maintain and store operating supplies and spare parts with assigned areas of responsibility, including warehouse and satellite storage location interaction
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts to include consumptions, stock replenishment, and cycle counting
  • Maintain all equipment used within assigned area of responsibility
  • Create and implement a KPI reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Take all required steps involved with the identification and correction of issues relating to all Logistics activities, including process improvement and cost reduction activities
  • Supervise assigned Logistics Operators, Clerks and Coordinators
  • Ensure all required trainings are timely made by all team members in his/her area of responsibility
  • Other tasks as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or 3+ years of related supervisory work experience and a High School Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of operational experience in a warehouse and shipping environment

  • 3+ years of strong leadership experience is required

  • Inventory control and international shipping experience is preferred

  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • Must have advanced understanding of warehouse processes
  • Must have the ability to operate all Powered Industrial Equipment used in the Logistics Department
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel/Power Point) required
  • Must be able to multi-task and efficiently operate in a stressful work environment requiring detail, speed, and accuracy
  • Must have a thorough understanding of all duties required of Logistics Clerks and Operators
  • Must have a thorough understanding of and ability to use SAP (MM, VD) and Scanner software
  • Willingness to establish, support and participate in continuous improvement activities (i.e. Lean/Continuous Improvement)
  • Must be flexible to learn new processes and adapt to change
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally with all levels of operations. Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and be detail-oriented
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteous and professional manner with others
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction
  • Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management
  • Ability to read and interpret Logistics documents such as receivers, Bill of Ladings, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals
  • Lead and motivate a team
  • Ability to complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately and according to established guidelines
  • Ability to verify paperwork necessary to insure accuracy
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
  • Ability to design and conduct a systematic, objective, and critical investigation
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
  • Willing to lead in meeting all safety goals and identify safety improvements
