At our site in Charleston, we are currently looking for a ​Logistics Engineer​ to join our growing team.


Job Responsibilities

The Logistics engineer position combines strong analytical and project management skills with a solid understanding of Supply Chain practices to improve operational performance, increase productivity, shorten lead times, and reduce costs. This includes process design, network modeling, warehouse and facility design, time standards engineering, project leadership, and transportation mode modeling.

The key responsibilities of a Logistics Engineer are:

  • Design comprehensive supply chains that maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Propose cost effective, efficient logistics solutions for internal and external customers.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of current or future logistical processes, including identifying and developing business rules or standard operating procedures to streamline operating processes.
  • Review contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics and support requirements including; facility details, staffing needs, specifications for equipment, tools, material-handling systems, and transportation.
  • Evaluate logistics technology or information for effective and efficient support of product, equipment, or system manufacturing or service, such as, warehousing software (WMS), Transportation software (TMS), intelligent conveyor systems and AGVs, global positioning systems (GPS), or radio-frequency identification (RFID).
  • Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business units.
  • Analyze or interpret logistics data involving customer service, forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, transportation, or warehousing and apply logistics modeling techniques to address issues such as operational process improvement, facility design and layout, fuel costs, and transportation pricing.
  • Prepare logistic strategies or conceptual designs for production facilities.              
  • Understand Import and Export compliance process and be able to design and implement processes to improve efficiency.  Must be familiar with tracking international shipments through all phases of movement.
  • Master financial reports and other data available to track project progress. 





  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.                                                                        
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Transportation best practices.
  • Six Sigma knowledge and experience- thorough understanding and ability to use Lean / Six Sigma principles. 
  • Ability to establish and lead continuous improvement activities.  Able to design and conduct a systematic, objective, and critical investigation using cost analysis decision metrics
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel/Power Point) and WMS (Warehouse Management System)
  • Advanced computer skills, SAP preferred. 
  • Experience and understanding of complex international projects is preferred.    
  • Experience in modeling and analyzing complex logistics networks.                                             
  • Experience with new technologies and equipment to improve efficiencies of processes.                      
  • Experience developing and maintaining metrics data and KPI’s.                                                    
  • General Transportation Knowledge – modes, capacity, regulations.                                          
  • Critical thinking and time management skills.                                                                             
  • Complex problem solving, sound judgment and decision making skills.                                       
  • Operation analysis and mechanical knowledge of material handling equipment and powered industrial trucks.
  • Strong communication skills, and computer proficiency
  • Ability to work on an international team; along with the willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Demonstrates high level of self-initiative and motivation.
  • Knowledge of 3PL a plus
