We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician III - General Analytics to join our team in Charleston, TN.
What you will do:
This Laboratory Technician III - General Analytics position will ensure efficient quality control and analytical support for the Charleston site. The position will focus on testing in-process samples using Gas Chromatography (GC) and Environmental samples, as well as be responsible for refining analytical aspects of in-plant testing, batch release and regulatory samples. This position will carry out routine analyses and non-routine lab experiments for trouble shooting and report to the Technical Manager, Analytics.
- Conduct all steps of the analyses required for in-process testing, batch release and regulatory samples somewhat independently. Participate in the planning, implementation, and control of experiments.
- Begin to provide technical assistance to other lab team members regarding analytical and data-processing aspects. (60%)
- Interact with databases and computer software; enter data and retrieve data. Evaluate lab results. Use existing software for evaluation and documentation purposes. (10%)
- Observe/differentiate between standard conditions and deviations from normal. Communicate results and deviations/observations from non-routine analyses. (10%)
- Cooperate with the other qualified staff in scheduling and coordinating servicing, trouble shooting and preventative maintenance. (5%)
- Contact appropriate personnel when additional expertise is required. (5%)
- Other duties as assigned. (10%)
What we need from you:
- High School Diploma or GED with 7+ years of relevant years of experience in a chemical or technical field; Associate's or BS degree in a technical field preferred.
- Certificates concerning instrument maintenance preferred but not required.
- Experience on chemical instrumentation preferred.
- Safety, detail, and quality oriented; having environmental consciousness.
- Have proven technical and mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.
- Express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, to groups and individuals.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and maintain confidentiality and integrity.
- Good communication skills required.
- Be able to work overtime (including weekends and holidays), if necessary.
- Skilled at troubleshooting issues with equipment and processes.
- Be able to work at multiple workstations.
- Potential exposure to chemicals on a daily basis.
- Specialist knowledge of instrumental analysis, preferred.
- Knowledge of the chemistry and technology associated with the production of polysilicon, preferred.
