What you will do:
The ISO Document Specialist is responsible for responsible for managing the standards, procedures, and forms owned by Engineering and Maintenance groups in the US region. This position leads and coordinates the development and revision of engineering standards, procedures, and forms in coordination with the technical document owners. Business process procedures maybe authored by the specialist. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Engineering Processes & Services.
- Coordinate the development, documentation, and revision of internally published engineering and maintenance standards documents (including procedures, engineering standards, work instructions, and forms.
- Create, review and revise Engineering or Maintenance relevant standards in coordination with technical document owners.
- Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional multi-site standards and reviews with stakeholders.
- Organize and coordinate the review & routing of internally published documents throughout the process from conceptualization, revision, and approval to internal publication and communication.
- For business work processes, this position may author the standards.
- Maintain master files, status of development and implementation. Gatekeeper for document numbering and structure
- Analyze existing work instructions, processes, procedures, records, and policies to identify gaps/outdated information and implement solutions to make documentation more efficient
- Interview and shadow subject matter experts in various groups to capture "tribal knowledge" and generate/update documentation as required.
- Communicate engineering relevant database contents to departments across WACKER US Region.
- Train new hires in best practice for accessing and requesting documentation.
- Maintain a log of all changes to databases
- Distribute directories of documents to appropriate business functions and notify impacted groups of document revisions/publication.
- Respond to document database FAQ's.
What we need from you:
- Associates degree in Engineering, English, or related fields is required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in an office environment providing support to engineering, logistics, or similar environments is required; 5+ years is preferred
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, OneNote, and SharePoint
- Candidate should be familiar with Standards & Regulations such as ISO 9001 as they apply to documentation & revision control
- Detail oriented in document review, assessment, development, and application of appropriate metadata to the documents
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and troubleshoot
- Effective planning and time management is vital to this role
- Strong interpersonal, written & verbal communication, and writing skills
- Ability to work well with others and comfortable with asking questions
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to self-teach and seek out other resources to create solutions in undefined areas
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred
- Experience with electronic document management systems
- Trustworthy to maintain integrity of confidential data and information in sensitive documents
- Familiarity with engineering procedures and processes in a manufacturing environment
