We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking a HR Generalist for our site in Charleston, TN.

 

What you will do:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day tactical operations of the Human Resources department by collectively managing, administering, and supporting the human resources policies, procedures, and programs.  The Human Resources Generalist will partner to develop and implement HR practices that promote continuous improvement and assist in delivering business objectives.

 

  • A hands-on approach with the ability to successfully partner with leaders to ensure a high level of employee engagement and to drive a values-based performance culture.
  • Serve as credible coach and business partner to leadership teams within a unit or function.
  • Actively participate and advise managers in areas such as discipline, performance reviews, and counseling actions. Conduct investigation as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues within the site as well, across the divisions and corporate (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits) to drive consistency and improve processes to become more efficient through utilization of electronic systems and maintaining the data supporting these systems.
  • Track and report on Key Performance Indicators and HR metrics related to recruitment, retention, etc.
  • Provide support as required for areas such as recruitment, selection, offers, new hire orientation, performance management, and training.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of company sponsored employee events, service award program, community activities, etc.
  • Administer and interpret HR policies and procedures ensuring clear communication, compliance, and equitable application of policies.
  • Collect and process required documentation including status changes and terminations in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain personnel records.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a face-paced environment with effective communication and follow-through on commitments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

 

What we need from you:

  • AS degree in HR; or other related field plus relevant HR generalist experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Self-driven with ability to partner and build relationships to effectively work with all levels within the organization.
  • Proven track record as an HR business partner who persists when faced with adversity to maintain the integrity of corporate policies and procedures.   
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • First-hand experience using an HRIS system, SAP or Success Factors preferred.
  • Proven ability to use a variety of MS Office software.
  • A current certification from SHRM or HRCI preferred.
  • Change agent mentality along with coaching capability.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one, small or large group settings.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support business/employee needs  
  • Ability to travel up to 5%.
