We are currently seeking a Director of Maintenance and Reliability, for our site in Charleston, TN.

 

What you will do:

The Director of Maintenance and reliability will be responsible to lead the implementation of maintenance and reliability best practices and systems sitewide to assure timely and effective production; coach, develop and manage all maintenance leaders, personnel, and activities across multiple divisions in a matrix organization for Polysilicon operations; provide technical guidance to Infrastructure and Silicones maintenance team; collaborate with local, regional, and global leaders to deliver 100% compliance by the Maintenance group to applicable regulatory requirements. (i.e., Safety, PSM, MI, Environmental, etc.); and ensure effective execution of critical management systems in maintenance including plant and outside services, capital delivery, and equipment rebuild quality assurance.

 

Technical and Leadership Duties:

  • Lead maintenance and reliability activities to $2.5B multi-division manufacturing site in Charleston, TN
  • Drive priorities and improvements in process reliability maintenance and ensure reliability maintenance tracking data/systems are maintained and used at all levels of the site to make data based and informed decisions.
  • Lead, coach and develop with direct oversight multiple maintenance leaders over Poly plant operations, and maintenance shop. Provide technical oversight on maintenance topics for HDK. and Infrastructure. This includes maintenance leaders in Poly, Silicones, Shop, and Infrastructure
  • Direct and prioritize jointly with Division Leaders internal and external maintenance resources delivering short-term results in safety and operations. Maintain appropriate pace of improvement in the implementation of best maintenance and reliability practices.
  • Create and maintain the organization structure/resources to ensure technical expertise and system ownership of all required maintenance systems, processes, and standards.
  • Manage and coordinate 3rd party maintenance service providers
  • Ensure the preventive maintenance, mechanical integrity, and process safety management systems are delivering high levels of execution and always exceeding minimum requirements.
  • Provide maintenance expertise and troubleshooting support to production units, utility, and infrastructure systems

 

Administrative Duties:

  • Drive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost
  • Provides oversight with business leaders to manage maintenance budgets and cost centers
  • Manage and support “best practices” transfer/exchange between Wacker’s production sites
  • Represent Wacker’s interests towards suppliers and contractors.  Provide subject matter expertise in support of EHSS interactions with regularly agencies.
  • Compile and provide reports related to area of responsibility
  • Cooperate and collaborate with groups and individuals across all departments, operations, engineering, and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results/solutions from a corporate/enterprise perspective
  • Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance to Wacker’s policies and procedures
  • Ensure all required trainings are timely made by all team members in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

 

What we need from you:

Education

Bachelor of Science degree (or higher-level education) in the field of engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical, or industrial)

 

Experience

  • 10-15 years manufacturing experience
  • 10 years leadership experience heavily weighted to maintenance and reliability
  • Leading large complex manufacturing site maintenance and reliability with PSM covered areas
  • Leading large change efforts or plant turn arounds building and implementing best practices in maintenance and reliability
  • Experience in team-based matrix organization is preferred
  • Subject matter expert in key functional areas of maintenance capable of teaching and training others

 

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of safe work environment and work practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure
  • Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements
  • Thorough understanding of maintenance and reliability principles and practices
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of mechanical and/or EI&C engineering incl. relevant regulations, standards, and codes
  • Thorough understanding of budget management
  • Mature leadership and employee management skills combined with team player attitude
  • Objective judgment and fact/data-based decision-making approach
  • Strong multitasking competency
  • Ability and willingness for domestic and international (mainly to Germany) travel
