WACKER POLYSILICON is the global leader in the production of polycrystalline hyperpure silicon for the semiconductor and solar solar industries. At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a Director, Human Resources Charleston to join our growing team.

 

 

        

Job Responsibilities

The Director, Human Resources, Charleston, will work in conjunction with the Charleston leadership team to support the multi-divisional site. This is a highly visible full generalist position. This position will serve as a hands-on working leader within the HR organization. The incumbent will work as a business partner for the multi-divisional site, including Polysilicon, Corporate and Silicones team members, as well as ensure alignment with the regional HR guidelines, policies and structure.    
Strategy

  • Work as a Business Partner with the leadership team 
  • Build solid working relationships with peers and across the organization and build a solid business acumen for the operation and overall Wacker organization. 
  • Through collaboration with the US headquarters, COE and existing practices manage the; talent acquisition and management, leadership development, employee relations, rewards and recognition, change management and operational excellence processes for the business unit. 
  • Assist in the continued profitable growth of the site by participating in the planning process for the organization
  • Work closely with peers to ensure strategies and policies are aligned and consistently applied across the region
  • Lead a team of HR professionals to effectively manage the align to support the daily and ongoing needs of the business
  • Ensure development of HR team 

Talent Acquisition, Management and Development

  • Work collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition OE to identify and implement the best strategies, processes and services to attract, develop, motivate and retain the best talent
  • In conjunction with Director, Talent Management and Development, direct talent management, talent assessment, career development and succession planning processes throughout the business
  • Assist in driving the Diversity strategy

Employee and Leadership Development
Work collaboratively with Director, Talent Management and Development and business group leaders to conduct comprehensive training and development .This will include a range of initiatives, including, but not limited to leadership development, 360-degree assessments, career development plans, leadership training, technical skill development, etc.  
Actively coach and provide guidance to managers and team members within the organization 

Employee Relations and Employee Engagement

  • Promote positive work environment through compliance with Wacker standards and ensuring fair and consistent administration of policies and practices
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state legislation
  • Support development and launch of effective communications programs
  • Ensure positive working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Drive retention and reward and recognition initiatives throughout business unit

Change Management

  • Contribute to organizational change management initiatives through planning and execution
  • Lead cultural change initiatives across the organization
  • Ensure open and timely communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related field required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years in the Human Resources field - generalist activity
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing organization
  • Experience supporting both office and manufacturing environments
  • Leadership experience for a team of 5 or more HR professionals
  • Demonstrated strong HR generalist skills and abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple, complex projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Self-motivated
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office and SAP HR
  • Proven effective ability to build relationships and influence thinking within an organization
  • Proven ability to drive consensus around difficult issues
  • Able to establish and manage priorities and expectations of demanding client groups
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem solving capabilities
  • Strong communications skills - interpersonal, presentation, written, spoken
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Strong credibility and professional competence with senior corporate management team and operations management
  • Effective facilitation, teambuilding and networking skills
  • Thorough understanding of US and regional state human resources legislation and practices
  • Strong internal customer-focus
  • Proven ability to work in a process-driven culture
