WACKER North America is looking for highly motivated college students for our summer internship program from June 2021 through August 2021 at our Calvert City, KY location.

 

The intern will support the engineering department on the following projects:

 

Daily Quality and Onstream Monitoring
- Review of QA/QC data from previous day
- Review of downtime causes from previous day
- Troubleshooting QA/QC issues
- Troubleshooting downtime issues
- Reporting QA/QC and Onstream data to upper management
Running day-to-day operations of VAE Reactor
- Hands on experience with running a high pressure, high temperature polymerization reactor
- Extensive troubleshooting learning opportunities (fieldwork and process trend review)
- Hands on experience dealing with process upsets and directing a labor force to resolve various process issues

 

Educational Requirements:

-    Currently enrolled and active in an degree program. Preference will be given to individuals majoring in Chemical Engineering.
-    Minimum of 3.0 GPA (cumulative)

 

Additional Skills/Requirements:

Industrial Lab Experience
- Overview of an industrial QA/QC laboratory
Polymerization Chemistry Training
- Familiarity with basic principles of chemistry
SAP experience preferred
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
